SCC Talent Spectacular Variety Show to Hold Open Call for Acts, Participants
SCC is hosting its first ever Talent Spectacular on Friday, March 1, at the Capitol Theater in Burlington. Community members, students, staff, and fans of the college are invited to vie for the $500 Grand Prize.

SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing set for Friday, July 20 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course
The 17th annual SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing is set for Friday, July 20 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m. The event includes free beverages all day long, prizes for every golfer, hole games, a dinner buffet after golf, Birdies for Charity pledges, and a silent auction. Mulligans and raffle tickets for special items are available for purchase on the course.

Upward Bound to Participate in Summer Food Service Program
The Southeastern Community College Upward Bound Program is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all eligible children free of charge. (To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential or non-residential camp, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced-price meals in the National School Lunch Program.)
Eighth Grade Girls to Investigate their Future at SCC Event on May 11
SCC's "Investigate Your Future," educational event for 8th grade girls will take place on Friday, May 11 on the West Burlington campus. Over 200 girls from school districts across Southeast Iowa are expected to attend. "Investigate Your Future" will provide interactive, hands-on sessions that expose girls to a careers in science, technology, engineering and math. The girls will be able to choose the sessions of interest to them.

SCC is pleased to offer the new L. W. Matteson Endowed Scholarship. This scholarship was established to assist students pursuing degrees leading to careers in career & technical programs or engineering.
SCC President Simone Announces Retirement
At the monthly meeting of the Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees, President Beverly Simone announced that she intends to retire from her post this summer.
