Great Western Bank Supports SCC’s Dream with $25,000 Gift
Southeastern Community College’s Building the Dream capital campaign has received another major gift. Great Western Bank has pledged $25,000.
SCC President Dr. Michael Ash expressed his sincere gratitude for the local company’s support.
“Banks across our region always rise to the occasion to fund important community projects. Great Western Bank is no exception,” said Ash. “Bank President Jim Olson was on board with our campaign from the beginning. We’re thankful for his leadership and support.”
SCC Foundation Board Executive Director and campaign coordinator Becky Rump added, “Great Western Bank and its predecessor institutions have supported SCC for years. We are elated they chose to continue that tradition.”
Building the Dream Campaign Chair, Mike Shinn echoed these sentiments, and added, “Local organizations lean heavily on our financial institutions for support. Institutions like Great Western Bank are the economic engines of our region. This campaign wouldn’t be successful without them.”
Including Great Western Bank’s gift, fundraisers have secured commitments of over $9.3 million of the $12 million goal.
The Building the Dream capital campaign supports SCC’s construction initiative of the same name. It includes the new Health Professions Center and the Hall of Sciences on the West Burlington campus, and the Industrial Technologies Training Center on the Keokuk campus. With an estimated total project cost of $27 million, it is the largest, most comprehensive infrastructure investment undertaken by SCC since 1995.
