The Associate of Arts Degree is primarily intended for those students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university. All credits earned within this classification are considered transferable by this institution. However, the student should always consult with the four-year institution to ascertain application of particular courses for their degree objectives.
SCC offers a number of courses in a variety of subjects.
All candidates for the Associate of Arts Degree must meet the following requirements:
| 1. | Earn a minimum of fifteen (15) of the last twenty (20) semester hours of credit in resident classes at Southeastern Community College. | |
| 2. | Earn a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0. | |
| 3. | a. All General Education Group Requirements necessary for the Associate of Arts Degree must be selected from courses numbered 100 to 199. (For exceptions, contact the Registrar's Office.) | |
| b. Each of the following minimum General Education Group Requirements must be met: | ||

* Select courses from at least two different disciplines in this area. In the Science and Mathematics group, at least one lab Science and one Mathematics course must be taken.
** Select courses from among the above three areas (Humanities, Social Sciences, Science and Mathematics).
*** These hours will be taken from Arts and Sciences electives designed and acceptable for transfer. However, up to 16 semester hours of vocational courses with a grade of "C" or better may be applied as part of the 21 semester hours of electives.
