Work-Study
The SCC Financial Aid Office may be able to help with that too!
The Federal College Work-Study Program at SCC provides qualified students to obtain part-time employment during the academic year. A student can identify their work study eligibility by examining their financial aid award letter sent to them by SCC. Eligibility will be indicated by the inclusion of a "Work Study" award and amount located on the award letter. However, the inclusion of a work-study award does not guarantee employment through the program. Due to the limited amount of federal funds, and the limited availability of work-study positions, not every qualified student will obtain employment through the program.
YOU MUST BE ENROLLED AT LEAST 1/2-TIME IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR WORK-STUDY!
Jobs are located on-campus or off-campus (off-campus positions are limited to not-for-profit community service based positions). The wage rate for 2008-2009 is $8.50 per hour. Award amounts are based on calculated need as determined by information provided on the FAFSA.
Available work-study positions are normally posted outside of the Student Services Office at each SCC Campus. In addition, work-study announcements are included in the student newspapers (MISCC and Voice) available at either campus. You may also view the currently available work-study positions by accessing the link on this web page.
For questions about your college work-study eligibility as it pertains to your financial aid, please contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at the campus you are attending.
