SCC BUSINESS STUDENTS EARN HIGH HONORS AT NATIONAL COMPETITION
Students in Southeastern Community College's Business and Computer Clubs earned high honors during student competitions at the Business Professionals of America National Leadership Conference in Dallas, TX on June 17.
Sarah Mathews of Mount Pleasant earned medals in the following categories:
• First place, Advanced Accounting
• Sixth place, Payroll Accounting
• Tenth place, Insurance Concepts
• Tenth place, Parliamentary Procedure Concepts
Michele Herriman from Fort Madison took Fourth Place in Basic Office Systems and Procedures.
Mathews and Herriman also placed seventh place in the Administrative Support Team category.
SCC Business Club sponsor, Cindy Murphy praised the students. "There were about 900 competitors at this years' conference, and two of our students took seven medals. That's a pretty impressive showing for SCC."
