Iowa Supreme Court Justice Thomas Waterman to Speak at SCC on September 27
Southeastern Community College and the Eighth Judicial District of Iowa will welcome Iowa Supreme Court Justice Thomas Waterman to SCC’s West Burlington campus on Tuesday, September 27. The event will be held in the Little Theater at 7:00pm.
Justice Waterman’s presentation is entitled, “Perspectives of a new Iowa Supreme Court Justice on selection, service and retention in the post-Varnum era.” The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session, and a reception.
Justice Waterman was appointed to the Iowa Supreme Court in 2011. Originally from Davenport, IA, Justice Waterman earned his bachelor of arts degree from Dartmouth College in 1981. He graduated Order of the Coif from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1984, and served as associate editor of the law review. He was in private practice at Lane & Waterman LLP in Davenport from 1984 until his appointment. He is an avid endurance sports enthusiast.
