Southeastern Community College to Participate in Faculty Recruitment Fair on May 3

Southeastern Community College (SCC) will participate in a jointly-sponsored Adjunct Faculty Recruitment Fair with Carl Sandburg College (CSC) and Spoon River College (SRC) from 10:00am to 3:00 pm on Friday, May 3 at the CSC branch campus in Carthage, IL.

Adjunct, or part-time, instructors play an important role in helping community colleges achieve their mission of serving community, business and industry needs by providing additional variety and availability of courses for students.

“We’re always interested in finding quality instructors,” says SCC Keokuk Campus Dean Teresa García. “The recruitment fair gives each college an opportunity to identify and make connections with qualified people interested in teaching at the college level.”

This is the first time the colleges have teamed together to host such an event.

Qualifications for part-time instructors include demonstrated teaching competence in the field of instruction, and a master’s degree in the specific discipline, including degrees in communications, fine arts, social sciences, math and science, or in the career and technical fields with appropriate training and experience.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply in advance for the Adjunct Job Recruitment Fair on the Employment page of the SRC website at www.src.edu/about/jobs.

Teaching positions are currently available at all three colleges. Applicants are encouraged to bring a cover letter, a resume with three references, and official college transcripts. Representatives from all three schools will be available for on-site interviews or to discuss teaching opportunities.

For more information or to make an appointment for the fair, contact the CSC branch campus in Carthage at 217-357-3129, ext. 0, from 8:00pm to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
