Photo and Graphics Guide

Picture-perfect Pages

So you want to add a picture to your page. Great. Here are a few tips:

  1. Does the page or content need a picture? If adding a picture will add interest and supports the conent of the page, then use one.  Don't use a picture just because you can.
  2. Is it a good picture?  Does it have good color and is it in focus?  Is it pixilated? Often times a bad picture is worse than no picture.
  3. Is it the right picture? Can you see what you want the visitor to see? Remember, your picture will likely be less than 3 inches wide. If you have a large group shot, people will look tiny and possibly indistinguishable.

Graphics and Logos

There are also times when webpages will require specific graphics or logos.
Tables, charts, maps and logos can sometimes be tricky.  Approved SCC and SCC-related logos are available for free (however bribes are always welcome).

For help with such mysterious things, contact the Wizard of Ahs for help.
