Testing & Placement

One of the first things you have to do after you've applied to SCC will be to provide standardized test scores. If you've already taken the ACT, simply provide your official score (we can tell you how).

If you haven't taken the ACT, you'll need to take the COMPASS test. It is similar to the ACT but is more suited for community college students.

You don't have to go into the COMPASS test cold. Click on the link below to learn more about the COMPASS and to see sample questions and even take practice tests.

Once completed, your ACT and/or COMPASS scores are used to place you in the appropriate courses, particularly math and English.

Downoad the doc below to see what classes you need to take based on your test scores.
