Joining a club or student organization is a great way to get involved. With groups for nearly every interest area, you'll be sure to find a great new group of friends here.
SCC clubs and organizations are student-driven with a faculty or staff member as an advisor.
Why get involved in student activities?
- Meet New People — Activities and clubs are a great way to meet new people and make new friends who share your social, professional, political, recreational or educational interest, which will make you feel more comfortable and at home in college!
- The Cure for Homesickness — First-semester students especially can feel disconnected and even a little lonely. Diving into some student activities is a proven antidote for homesickness.
- Explore Your Interests — College is an ideal time to branch out! Student activities and clubs are a great way to explore new interests and can even help you figure out what you want to do for a career.
- Build Professional Connections and Your Resume — Professional groups help you develop connections with fellow students and even members of the professional community outside the college.
- Cheap Entertainment! — Money is always tight for college students, so rather than sitting your apartment, staring at your phone or snap chatting about food, take advantage of low-cost or free student activities.

General Interest Clubs
The African American Heritage Club was formed to recognize and celebrate African American culture. It will help students to recognize and celebrate African Americans through educational, social and cultural events. The club welcomes all students that appreciate African American contributions to our society.

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is a national, cocurricular, career/technical organization for students in middle school, high school, and college business and technology programs
Students compete at the regional, state, and national levels in more than 50 Workplace Skills Assessment Program events, engage in community and leadership service activities, and meet business students across the state and country through participation in our programs.
Our alumni go on to do great things: leading their industry, advocating for others, and achieving educational success. In conjunction with K-12 schools, colleges, and universities across the state, we help prepare today's students to become tomorrow's business professionals.

Need some good drama in your life? SCC’s Keokuk Campus Drama Club promotes the arts on campus and in our community. We hold various activities including performances, field trips, general discussions, readings, films, and a variety of special events. Additionally, we devote resources to sponsor Share the Warmth and plan Broadway theatrical performance trips (past trips included Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables, Hamilton in St. Louis, Des Moines, etc.), as well as supporting theatrical performances (such as Rent, Young Frankenstein, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Play that Goes Wrong) produced by SCC DRA141 & DRA142 Professor Jodi Cook.

DreamCatchers Foundation provides students with an opportunity to learn life skills, develop their propensity for compassion and empathy, and experience a perspective that advances their understanding of life. We empower students and their local communities to fulfill the end-of-life Dreams of hospice patients and create powerful connections for younger and older generations.
West Burlington
FCCLA, or Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, is the only youth organization
with family as its central focus. Youth are empowered to address personal, work and
societal issues through individual and chapter projects. Involvement in FCCLA offers
members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for
life necessary in the home and workplace such as planning, goal setting, problem solving,
decision making and interpersonal communication.
Iowa FCCLA is a recognized Career and Technical Student Organization in Iowa, with
the Iowa Department of Education holding the organization charter.

The SCC Film Club is for students who are interested in viewing, making, and discussing films.
West Burlington
Join the SCC Garden Club. We plant and maintain the garden near the greenhouse on SCC's campus. We donate our produce to the Blackhawk Cupboard. In addition to planting and maintaining, we meet to learn about other gardening and home horticulture topics. The Garden Club participates with campus activities, community service related to gardening and a few local trips. No experience necessary.

The SCC Honors Program is open to students on the Keokuk and West Burlington campuses who demonstrate academic merit and participate actively and substantively in the classroom.
Honors students want to learn for learning’s sake and not just to earn a credential on their transcripts. They enrolled in AP and Honors courses in high school when available. They set high standards for themselves and work hard to achieve them. They participate actively in class, share ideas with their classmates, and learn from each other.

HOSA Future Health Professionals has served over 2.8 million members since 1976. The mission of HOSA is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience. Welcome to Iowa HOSA Future Health Professionals!

Membership is by invitation only. Southeastern students who have completed 12 credit hours of SCC classes and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are invited to join the honor society. Invitations are emailed out every semester. Members participate in three IA region conferences and one Int’l convention. The chapter is one of the top 100 chapters in the United States; total of 1300 chapters. There are scholarship opportunities for members at transferring institutions across the US. Members are encouraged to grow their leadership skills by becoming part of a leadership team, taking the HUM287 Leadership Development class, and/or by attending a conference.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes from every sport assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC offers input and awareness of issues that affect student-athletes’ lives at Southeastern, and works to enhance the student-athlete experience. The SAAC is also in charge of the end of year Talons Award Ceremony which honors academic and athletic achievement.

The SCC Student Board is dedicated to enhancing your college experience. We organize events, advocate for students by working with SCC faculty, staff, and administration, and much more.
Serving on the Student Board is a great way to meet new people, interact with college staff and administration, represent the needs of the student body, and develop life-long leadership skills.

The SCC Automotive Club is open to any student on campus interested in the Automotive industry. As a group, we hold fundraisers throughout the year, participate in community outreach, and take educational trips as available. Our students will have the opportunity to participate in a local competition with the top finishers moving on to the state competition. We encourage anyone interested to join us in building 500.

The SCC Blackhawk Motorsports Club is all about anything that has to do with motor sports. It is not limited to just the transportation Industry. It embraces the motor head culture that includes all forms of racing, car shows, restoration, high performance, collecting vintage artifacts from cars, to tools, to petroleum signs and more.

Boost your college experience with Business Club! The Business Club is for any student with an interest in business. This student-driven club provides opportunities for workshops, networking with local professionals, travel, service, social activities, business competitions, and leadership. Affiliated with Business Professionals of America (BPA).

The Southeastern Community College Computer Club, affiliated with Business Professionals of America (BPA), is a student organization aimed at creating a community for individuals passionate about technology and those aspiring to excel in the business world. This club provides a platform for members to explore computer science and technology while also developing essential skills for success in the business world. Through this unique combination, the club helps students develop technical and business skills, preparing them for a well-rounded future in the technology and business sectors.

Campus Crusade for Christ, aka CRU, meets regularly on campus for worship, fellowship & discipleship.

Di Dante Literature & Writing Club is for students who are interested in reading, writing, and discussing literature and writing.

Open to any student interested in graphic design/digital marketing. Students could attend conferences, do tours, and speak with graphic designers in the area. The club is involved with student board activities and community projects (ie: Blackhawk Bash, hallway decorating, face painting at Ghost Train, Spring Fling, and other fundraising activities).

Medical Assistant based which is program-based club members but always excited to have other student body join in, we welcome all. We do fundraisers to help support our Christmas Family, Sharing Shelves, or another organization in the area that are in need. We also participate in community project. We are caring group that strives to help others in our school and community.
Advisor: Kara SchreinerMusic Club is a place for anyone who loves music. Whether you make music yourself, love listening to it, or just want to find a place to meet new people, music club is the place for you.
We meet at least once a week to record our podcast (yes, we have a podcast) about all things SCC and all things music.
We plan concerts, perform, hang out together, and support our community at large.

The Student Nurse’s Association- Keokuk Campus (SNA-KK) is an organization dedicated to building future leaders in Nursing. We are comprises of students who are in the nursing program, and this can include those in pre-requisite classes for nursing. We are involved in activities that promote community health and professional development. We meet at noon on days that both levels (PN and AND) students are on campus, which may vary during the semester based on clinical activities.

Our goal is to make science fun. We welcome individuals interested in science, be it chemistry, physics, biology, astronomy etc. We try and do an activity in most meetings and have brought our various SCC activities to SCC functions such as paper airplanes and pumpkin decorations. In addition to our meeting activities, we try and take at least one field trip with a science theme each year.
