SCC TO HOLD MASS CASUALTY DRILL ON TUESDAY, JUNE 30

Southeastern Community College and Des Moines County Emergency Management will conduct a mass casualty drill on SCC's West Burlington campus on Tuesday, June 30. The drill will take place at the fairground arena. It will include a simulated disaster that results in several injured people. The victims will be played by SCC nursing students, and personnel from all county fire and EMS agencies will participate. Ambulances will transport injured to Great River Medical Center, which will also test its mass casualty response plan. The Med Force helicopter will transport injured persons as well.

The event is open to the public. However, for safety reasons, spectators must contact John Cockrell at (319) 208-5253 or jcockrell@scciowa.edu prior to the event.
