Advanced Manufacturing Career Fair
When: 4pm-7pm, October 22
Where: Loren Walker Arena, SCC West Burlington Campus
What: Advanced Manufacturing Career Fair
The event is sponsored by “The Link” at SCC, an Iowa Intermediary Network program focused on connecting business to education. The network is comprised of members from Greater Burlington Partnership, Lee County Economic Development Group, Mt. Pleasant Chamber Alliance, Great Prairie Education Agency, Iowa Workforce and SCC.
The goal of the event is to connect the workplace and the classroom across the Southeast Iowa region to students in grades 6 through 12. Professionals from local business and industries will highlight jobs in the region and promote career exploration.
“Our goal is to demonstrate manufacturing career opportunities in our region, and break down the stereotypes that many have about manufacturing industries,” says SCC Work-Based Learning Specialist, Leanne Krogmeier.
In addition to local industries, representatives from Elevate Iowa and SCC will be on hand to talk with those in attendance about choosing a career in the Advanced Manufacturing field and the educational opportunities available to them locally.
