SCC was accepted into the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) in 2006. AQIP is structured around quality improvement principles and processes and involves a structured set of goal-setting, networking, and accountability activities. The SCC AQIP Quality Team provides oversight for all AQIP related activities, including the selection, deployment and evaluation of SCC's AQIP action projects.
AQIP institutions continuously work on improvement projects which provide evidence that quality improvement is occurring at the institution. The Commission asks institutions to have at least one active Action Project at all times. SCC submits an annual update, which is reviewed and evaluated by the Higher Learning Commission. Once every two years, one action project must be aligned with Category One, Helping Students Learn.
