April 1 Deadline for Nearly $250,000 in Scholarships from SCC Foundation
West Burlington, IA- The Southeastern Community College (SCC) Foundation online scholarship applications will be accepted until April 1, 2015 from persons enrolling at SCC starting next fall. More than 300 scholarships totaling nearly $250,000 will be available for awarding by the SCC Foundation for the 2015-2016 academic year.
Rebecca Rump, executive director of the SCC Foundation, says funding comes from annual and endowed gifts to the Foundation. Donations come in the form of cash donations, memorials, planned gifts and bequests from individuals and businesses.
Rump says individuals interested in scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year can apply online by completing a single application form by visiting www.scciowa.edu or by clicking this link: http://bit.ly/sccfscholars.
Rump says applicants have a greater than 50 percent chance of receiving a scholarship award.
Rump adds, “Just one hour spent completing the application could yield scholarships ranging from $100 to full tuition and books.”
To be eligible for consideration, applicants are asked to secure at least one reference letter electronically by April 1 to provide access to their most recent previous educational transcripts, and to complete the federal financial aid application (FAFSA).
SCC staff will assist with the SCC Foundation scholarship application process, the FAFSA filing process and SCC application process again on Saturday, February 28 at the Keokuk Campus from 9 AM to 1 PM.
