SCC Hires New Volleyball Coach, Erin Davidson


West Burlington, IA- Southeastern Community College (SCC) has hired Erin Davidson as Head Coach of the SCC Blackhawks Women’s Volleyball Program.

Coach Davidson joins SCC from York College in York, Nebraska. As a player for York College, Davidson earned multiple conference honors as a setter and libero. Davidson was also named to the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference First and Second All-Conference Teams.  Davidson ended her playing career with over 2,200 assists and 1,300 digs.

After graduating in 2013 with her Bachelor’s in Psychology, Coach Davidson accepted the job as Assistant Coach for the York College Panther volleyball program.  In the two years with the Panthers, Davidson has assisted the team to two conference tournament appearances and numerous individual conference awards.

SCC Women’s Athletic Director, Melissa Flores, says the athletic department is ready to re-vamp its volleyball program with Coach Davidson’s knowledge and experience.

“We’re looking forward to having Coach Davidson on board with us and we’re excited to watch her bring Blackhawks volleyball back to SCC.”

Coach Davidson is excited about the upcoming season and plans to build a strong and successful program both on the court and academically. “I have the highest of expectations for my team and look forward to rebuilding the Blackhawk volleyball program. This program has had a tradition of winning and I intend on continuing that tradition.”
