SCC Welcomes Women's Perspectives Speakers on March 6
In recognition of Women in History Month, Southeastern Community College will host a special presentation entitled, "How Black and White Women Receive and Perceive Each Other." The program will take place on the Keokuk campus next Tuesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the Student Lounge.
Hal Chase to Present Outside In: African American History in Iowa at on Feb 21
In recognition of Black History Month, Southeastern Community College will host Dr. Hal Chase for two presentations of Outside In: African-American History in Iowa, 1838-2018. Dr. Chase will present at noon in the Industrial Technology Training Center on SCC’s Keokuk campus and at 6:30 p.m. in room 123 on West Burlington’s campus on Wednesday, February 21.

SCC will offer free assistance to persons need help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at its FAFSA Ready Iowa event on Saturday, February 17 at both the West Burlington and Keokuk campuses. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.
March 1 Deadline for $300,000 in Scholarships from SCC Foundation
The Southeastern Community College Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships for students who plan to attend SCC in the fall. Applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. CDT, March 1, 2017.
Men's, Women's Cross Country Comes to SCC this Fall, Christianson Tapped to Lead
Southeastern Community College will roll out men's and women's cross country programs in August. Head Coach Nathan Christianson has been tapped to steer both squads.
Michael Ash Named 2018 CASE District VI Chief Executive Leader
SCC President Dr. Michael Ash will receive the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) 2018 District VI Chief Executive Leadership Award at its annual conference in St. Louis on January 29.
STEMFest Returns to SCC in West Burlington on February 10
The fifth annual Southeast Iowa Regional Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Festival (STEMFest) will take place at SCC's West Burlington campus on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The event is a joint effort between SCC, the Southeast Iowa STEM Hub, local businesses, manufacturers, and educators.

Southeastern Community College will add soccer to its Blackhawk Athletics lineup in August. Head Coach Zachary Newton has been tapped to steer both squads.

SCC's Culture on Campus Committee will host a Visiting Writers Series event Saturday, November 11, at 8:00 p.m. on its West Burlington campus. Scheduled to appear are poets Katherine Gibbel and Alyssa Moore, two writers from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop in Iowa City. SCC's Di Dante Literature & Writing Club will co-host.

SCC Hosts Open House for New Auto Tech Lab on Keokuk Campus Oct. 24
SCC will host an open house for its new Automotive Technology Lab on its Keokuk campus on Tuesday, October 24 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Made possible in part by a $10,000 grant from the Iowa Auto Dealers Association, the lab is equipped with auto lifts, tool chests and class-related equipment.
The Second Annual Dirty Hawk 5K Comes to SCC on October 14
Southeastern Community College (SCC) will host its second annual Dirty Hawk Dash 5K on Saturday, October 14 in West Burlington. This mud run will take racers on a 5K loop over, through and around SCC's West Burlington campus with plenty of obstacles along the way.
Zombie Walk Comes to Keokuk October 13
SCC Keokuk campus Drama Club will host its 7th Annual Zombie Walk on Friday, October 13. The walk will begin at Estes Park at Fifth and Main Street in Keokuk. Registration starts at 5:00 p.m. The contest starts promptly at 6:00 p.m., with walk to follow.
SCC's James Concannon Scholarship for Industrial Maintenance Technology Application Deadline October 1
The SCC Foundation is seeking applications for one of its newest scholarships, the James Concannon Industrial Maintenance Scholarship. This $1000 scholarship is open to students enrolled or intending to enroll in SCC's Industrial Maintenance Technology Program. Application deadline is October 1.
SCC to Host State Biology Instructors, Sponsor Aldo Leopold Show at Capitol Theater
Southeastern Community College will host the 2017 Iowa Association of Community College Biology Teachers Conference September 22-23. As part of the conference, SCC is sponsoring a one-man show about Aldo Leopold on September 22 at the Burlington Capitol Theater.

The annual SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing is set for Friday, July 21 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m. The event includes free beverages, gifts for every golfer, games, prizes, dinner, Birdies for Charity pledges, and a raffle.
SCC Opens New Industrial Technologies Training Center on June 13
SCC will hold a ribbon cutting and open house for its new Industrial Technologies Training Center (ITTC) on Tuesday, June 13 at 4:30 p.m. The facility is located on the Keokuk campus. The event is free and open to the public.
