About TRIO Programs:

The TRIO Programs, through a supportive environment, empower underrepresented students to access postsecondary education & to achieve academic success leading to a postsecondary degree. TRIO federal programs includes eight programs targeted to serve and assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to post-baccalaureate programs.

At Southeastern Community College two programs are housed, Upward Bound for high school students and Student Support Services for college students.

One step to success in college is to make a connection and feel part of a community. TRIO SSS provides support and services to help 250 students achieve and complete their Southeastern Community College Degree and transfer to a 4 year college or university to complete a Bachelor's Degree.

Southeastern Community College TRIO SSS is a $409,057.00 Federally funded 2019-2020 grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
