SCC Supporters Frank & Gretchen Delaney Give $25K to Building the Dream

10/03/2016

Southeastern Community College’s Building the Dream capital campaign has received another major gift in the form of $25,000 from Frank and Gretchen Delaney of Burlington.

SCC President Dr. Michael Ash said that Frank is the longest continuously-serving member of the SCC Foundation Board. “Since 1991, Frank has served in a number of key positions on the board, and he and Gretchen have been solid supporters of SCC even before that.”

SCC Foundation Board Executive Director and campaign coordinator Becky Rump added that Frank’s tenure on the Foundation Board speaks to his steady, solid dedication to SCC. “Over the past 25 years, Frank has worked hard to keep the Foundation healthy and chart a path for growth. Thanks to his efforts, we’re able to help hundreds of students year in and year out.”

Building the Dream Campaign Chair, Mike Shinn echoed these sentiments, and added, “It was never a question of whether the Frank and Gretchen would participate. We truly appreciate their support.”

With the Delaney’s gift, the campaign has secured commitments of over $9.3 million of the $12 million goal.

The Building the Dream capital campaign supports SCC’s construction initiative of the same name. It includes the new Health Professions Center and the Hall of Sciences on the West Burlington campus, and the Industrial Technologies Training Center on the Keokuk campus. With an estimated total project cost of $27 million, it is the largest, most comprehensive infrastructure investment undertaken by SCC since 1995.
