SCC's Success Centers encompass a variety of services and programs to support students in their academic endeavors.

From college placement assessment to instruction, tutoring and more, our staff and faculty are committed to helping students achieve their goals.

Disability Accommodations
Our staff members coordinate services that ensure a fair learning environment for individuals with documented disabilities. Learn more about disability accommodations.

Instruction
Our instructors teach fundamental and college level courses for students to build foundational skills in areas of math, science, English and study skills.

Peer Tutor Program
Successful SCC students serve as Peer Tutors to assist other students with their studies. The service is free for any SCC student and it is available for many subjects.

Student Lingo
Online help with study skills, test taking, writing, and more. Check out our Student Lingo page for more information.

Testing Services
The Success Centers offer a secure environment for college placement assessments (COMPASS and COMPASS ESL), student make-up exams, and numerous other examinations required for select online and correspondence courses and professional certification programs. Learn more about testing services.

TRIO Programs
SCC hosts two federally funded TRIO programs that assist first-generation college students and students from low-income families in pursuing a post-secondary education. The programs service eligible high school students in Burlington, Fort Madison, and Keokuk and eligible SCC students enrolled at the West Burlington campus. Learn more about TRIO here.
