Follow these steps and you'll be setting up your new home away from home in no time.
Accepted to SCC and submitted your housing application?
Great! All students must complete these important steps before move-in:
- Complete your FAFSA
- Finalize your financial aid
- Set up a payment plan
All payment arrangements must be finalized within thirty days after the first day of the semester.
Move-in Checklist
Here's a helpful list that will make preparing for move-in and your actual move-in a much smoother process.
What to bring
- Kitchen appliances, cookware, plates, glasses, silverware (suites only)
- Microwave
- Bedding linens (Twin XL) and accessories
- Storage containers
- Shower curtain
- Hangers
- Lamps, rugs, or any other room accessories
- Alarm clock
- Poster putty
- TV, cable cord, extension cord
- Vacuum cleaner or broom
- Cleaning supplies
- Dorm size refrigerator (optional)
- Computer printer
- Radio/Stereo
- Toaster, coffee pot w/auto shut off
What to leave at home
- George Foreman grills or the like
- Fryers, hot plates, crockpots, all appliances that do not have an auto shut off.
- No appliances that require grease for cooking.
- Candles and incense, scentsy pots (will be fined & confiscated)
- Dart boards with metal darts
- Other things that will cause damage to the room
- Hammer, nails, screws, metal pins for hanging items to walls
- Light strings
