Blackhawks sign West Prairie Hitter

Peterson signs letter of intent(May 8, 2009) West Burlington -- SCC Volleyball Head Coach Susan Wick announced today the addition of 5'9" outside hitter, Carri Peterson, of the West Prairie Cyclones. She is the daughter of Dave and Denise Peterson.

West Prairie, always a dominant volleyball powerhouse, under head coach Teri Paul, took fourth place in the Class 1A State Volleyball Tournament in 2008. Peterson was a varsity letter winner for Coach Paul all four years of high school, she also took Athlete of the Week honors all four years and was an All-Conference selection for the past two seasons.

Peterson not only excelled on the court, she also was on the honor roll all four years of high school. She also lettered in softball all four years of high school and was All-Conference softball the past two years.

Participating in the signing with Carri are her parents, her brother and Coach Susan Wick.

"This is a good cap to our recruiting season. Carri is a great all around athlete, I know she will excel when she gets to the college level. She has had great coaching with Coach Teri Paul and a great run throughout high school. She is a strong attacker from the outside and we hope to utitlize her blocking ability in the front row," said Coach Susan Wick.

Peterson joins eight new signees and four returning freshman on the blackhawks roster for 2009.
