SCC MARKETING DEPARTMENT BRINGS HOME THE HARDWARE FROM MARKETING AWARDS COMPETITION

The SCC Marketing Department was recognized by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, NCMPR, for excellence in marketing at NCMPR’s District 5 annual conference on September 20, 2009 in Sioux Falls, SD. SCC earned a total of seven Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medallions in six categories.

Categories and awards include:

• Class schedule, Silver

• Newsletter, Bronze

• Print ad series, Bronze

• Radio ad single, Gold, Silver

• Radio ad series, Gold

• Web advertising, Silver

Jeff Ebbing, SCC Director of Marketing and Communications, said he is honored to be recognized by fellow community college marketing colleagues and industry professionals. However he said that the job is made easier thanks to the quality of the subject matter.

“The Marketing Department tries hard to tell SCC’s story in ways that resonate with the public. If the story wasn’t already compelling, there wouldn’t be much to promote,” he noted.

The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations is an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges. With more than 650 member colleges, NCMPR is the only organization of its kind that represents marketing and PR professionals at community and technical colleges in the USA and Canada. NCMPR District 5 encompasses seven states across the upper Midwest and Great Plains, and Manitoba Canada.
