SCC Hosting LaMoine Brass Quintet


West Burlington, IA- Southeastern Community College (SCC) and Tri States Public Radio will present the LaMoine Brass Quintet in concert at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, in the Little Theater on SCC’s West Burlington campus. The concert is free and open to the public.

Known for their precision, passion, and power, the LaMoine Brass Quintet boasts “a combination of music that keeps you wanting more.” The Quintet’s performance at Southeastern Community College will feature J. S. Bach’s, Concerto in D, as well as the dynamic work for brass quintet, Frost Fire, by the American composer Eric Ewazen.

Comprised of professional educators and musicians, the LaMoine Brass Quintet has performed through the past two decades. Members of the Quintet include: Bruce Briney and Alberto Racanati, trumpets; Randall Faust, horn; John Mindemen, trombone; and Terry Solomonson, tuba.

The ensemble resides in the School of Music at Western Illinois University where they teach and perform. As part of their mission to serve students, the Quintet offers free clinics and performances for students in schools throughout Illinois and Iowa.

The concert is presented by SCC and Tri States Public Radio in celebration of the partnership between public radio and live music presentation in our region.
