2020 marks the 100th anniversary of Southeastern Community College. To commemorate this momentous milestone, a year of events and activities will celebrate the College's rich history. Events will also recognize the pivotal role the college has played as a catalyst for growth in the region.
March 1 Deadline for Fall Scholarships from SCC Foundation
The Southeastern Community College Foundation is now accepting applications for scholarships for students who plan to attend SCC in the fall of 2020. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on March 1.

SCC Awarded Pre-Apprenticeship Program Development Funds
Southeastern Community College was awarded $18,000 to develop a construction trades pre-apprenticeship program. The college will partner with the Burlington Community School District (BCSD), Carl A. Nelson & Company, and Brockway Mechanical & Roofing Co. to create the program for high school students.
SCC Music Hosts Monthly Live in Concert Series Tuesday, November 26
Southeastern Community College's music program will host its monthly Live in Concert Series event Tuesday, November 26 at 7 pm on its West Burlington campus. Scheduled to perform are flutist Karen Weirather and pianist Leigh Pirtle. SCC's Culture on Campus is funding the event.
Visiting Writers Series Welcomes Joseph Emanuel & Jorrell Watkins
Southeastern Community College's Culture on Campus Committee will host a Visiting Writers Series event Saturday, November 23, at 8 p.m. on its West Burlington campus. Scheduled to appear are poets Joseph Emanuel and Jorrell Watkins, two writers from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop in Iowa City. SCC's Di Dante Literature & Writing Club will co-host.

On Friday, November 8, Southeastern Community College will host activities to honor first-generation college students.
SCC to Host Financial Aid Workshop November 6
Southeastern Community College will offer its next FAFSA Ready Iowa session on November 6. This popular event helps students and families navigate and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. at both the West Burlington and Keokuk campuses.
SCC Welcomes Zombie Takeover of Keokuk October 11
The SCC Keokuk Campus Drama Club will host its Annual Zombie Walk on Friday, October 11. Registration is free and starts at 5 p.m. The contest begins at 6 p.m. with the walk to follow at Estes Park on Fifth and Main Street in Keokuk.
SCC Hosts Former NLF Player at Celebrity Night
The Blackhawk Booster Club of Southeastern Community College will host its annual fundraiser on Thursday, October 10 at the Pzazz! Convention Center.
SCC to Host College Fair October 8
Southeastern Community College will host College Representative Day on Tuesday, October 8 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Loren Walker Arena on the West Burlington Campus. Area high school juniors, seniors, and their guardians are invited to attend to learn more about their college options.

SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing set for Friday, July 19 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course
The annual SCC Alumni Association Golf Outing is set for Friday, July 19 at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course with a shot-gun start at 12:30 p.m. The event includes a box lunch beginning at 11 a.m., green fees, cart, free on-course beverages, a complete 3-meat grilled dinner, and player gifts.
Last-Dollar Scholarship Available to SCC Students
Students entering select SCC programs in this fall may be eligible for scholarships thanks to a new program through the State of Iowa's Future Ready Iowa initiative.
