2024 Commencement Information

GRADUATION PRACTICE
At 10 AM on the morning of the graduation ceremonies we will have an optional graduation practice for any students that plan to attend the ceremony that evening. (May 8 at the Keokuk campus courtyard, May 9 at the Burlington Memorial Auditorium).

GOWN PICKUP
Caps and gowns can be picked up beginning Monday, April 22nd. You can pick up your FREE cap, gown, and tassel as follows: Keokuk graduates at the Fred Karre Memorial Library and West Burlington graduates at the Blackhawk Bookstore.

Request to Graduate

If you think you have completed (or will complete by the end of the Summer 2024 semester) the requirements for your program, you will need to submit a graduation application by following these steps:

1. Log in to Hawknet
2. Click Self Service
3. Click Graduation Overview

Students planning to graduate this May or summer must submit their graduation application by Friday, April 26 to guarantee that their name is listed in the graduation program.

Even if you do not plan to participate in the ceremony, the Registrar needs this application completed to evaluate your record and award your degree. 

Legacy Alumni

Do you have family members who attended SCC? Maybe they went to Burlington Community College, Burlington Junior College, or Keokuk Community College.

If so, you're each now Legacy Alumni and an official Blackhawk Family!

Show your Blackhawk pride and sign up to receive your free Legacy Alumni graduate lapel pin to celebrate your family for paving the way for you. You'll get one for yourself and one to give to each family member who attended SCC!

Ordering Transcripts:

As soon as grades are posted and your degree completion is verified, the degree award will be posted to your transcript. You can request a transcript clicking here.

If you are requesting a transcript to be sent to another college or organization informing them that you have graduated, please mark on the request and send once degree is posted.
